Career Journey
From club soccer in Austin to the American Conference — a season-by-season look at how Christian Mezas developed into a two-time all-conference forward.
Westlake High School & FC Westlake ECNL-RL
Christian began drawing attention as a two-year letterman at Westlake High School, where he was named team MVP in back-to-back seasons. Playing club soccer with FC Westlake in the ECNL Regional League, he earned All-Star honors while also posting Academic All-State grades in the classroom.
An Immediate Impact in Austin
Christian stepped into the St. Edward's lineup as a true freshman, starting 13 of 17 matches and logging 819 minutes. He scored the game-winner against Texas A&M International on a Breast Cancer Awareness night, dedicating the goal to his mother — a moment he still calls the most meaningful of his career.
A Breakout Year
Christian became one of the Lone Star Conference's most dangerous forwards, starting 16 of 18 matches and ranking among the conference leaders with three game-winning goals — including a strike at Midwestern State with six seconds left and a two-goal, penalty-drawing performance against Oklahoma Christian. The season closed with All-LSC First Team, D2CCA All-Region Second Team, and United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team honors, plus Academic All-District recognition for his 3.9 GPA in Forensic Chemistry.
A New Chapter in the American Conference
Christian joined the Golden Hurricane ahead of the 2026 season, taking on the number 2 shirt as a junior forward. He's competing at the Division I level in the American Conference while continuing his academic work in chemistry. This page will update with match reports and statistics as the Tulsa season unfolds.
Chemistry Major, Global Perspective
Christian holds dual citizenship in the United States and the Netherlands. Off the field, he has volunteered internationally with IMIRE, a wildlife conservation organization in Botswana, and has consistently earned academic honors alongside his athletic achievements — most recently CSC Academic All-District recognition in 2025.
